The Winter Park High School Band Program prides itself on a long-standing tradition of excellence in music education. For years, this program has been a model for high school band programs in the State of Florida and throughout the country. In fact, the entire Music Department at Winter Park High School was recognized as a 2004-2007 “Music Demonstration School” by the Florida Department of Education. Winter Park Bands have consistently earned “Superior” ratings at District and State Performance Assessments, having received the Otto J. Kraushaar Award many times throughout the school’s history – an award that recognizes a record of straight “Superior” ratings at all marching and concert performance assessments throughout the entire year.
